I paint to explore the relationships of people, figures, shapes, color and emotion.

I enjoy working with many mediums. I most often use oil paint in both tube

and stick form and acrylic paint. I combine different drawing and painting

techniques and experiment with every new piece.

I work from my imagination, from models and from photographs that I take.

Sometimes I start with a structured composition and experiment within that

framework. Other times I start painting without any idea where the process

might lead. As the painting develops, as the shapes shift, as problems uncover

and I try to solve them I often keep remnants of the changes on the surface

as a record of the process.
